Esthetic and Functional Risk Management Through Applied POPA or PAOO™: 13 Years of Clinical Success

POPA and PAOO™ are innovative dental technologies, combining regenerative periodontal therapy with orthodontic treatment. They enables the dentist to minimize potential iatrogenic risk factors associated with orthodontic therapy (see below). Favorably positioned teeth plus an enhanced muco-gingival complex facilitate ideal and predictable esthetics and function.

Positive facets include:
1.  Treatment of existing recession and periodontitis lesions, as well as enhancement of thin biotypes. 2.  This minimizes the risk of iatrogenic gingival recession associated with orthodontic treatment.
3.  Greater post treatment orthodontic stability.
4.  Less apical resorption.
5.  Predictable and definitive periodontal and muco-gingival treatment.
6.  Accelerated orthodontic treatment, usually completed in 6-9 months.
7.  More stable and ideal tooth alignment.
8.  Less need for orthognathic treatment or extractions
Topics include:
1.  Why: Recession/Impactions/GBR/Sleep Disorders?
2.  Background and concepts of POPA and PAOO™.
3.  Limitations and complications of orthodontic treatment.
4.  Minimizing risk: Gingival recession, root resorption; extended orthodontic treatment time.
5.  Logistics of executing multi-disciplinary treatment.
6.  Representative cases.
7.  Evidence.

Target audience: Hygienist, Dentist, Specialist, Technician
